Baby Spice Is Crowned Celebrity Mum of the Year 2013

March 21st, 2013

Foxy Bingo recently released a shortlist of famous celebrity females for its Celeb Mum of the Year Award 2013 and now it’s been revealed that the winner is…..Emma Bunton!

The ‘baby’ Spice Girl, who has two cute little boys, has been crowned as the best celebrity mum for the year.

Is it any wonder why the 37-year-old took home the accolade? The infamous girl band reunited after 10 years to perform at the opening ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics; and the singer has landed a new hosting role on the breakfast radio show Heart 106.2.

Emma said that the award would definitely be taking a pride place on her mantelpiece. She said: “I’m so honoured that thousands of you picked me, thank you to everyone who voted! This award is extra special because this is the most important thing – being a Mummy!”

Her sons, Tate Lee Jones (2) and Beau Lee Jones (5), have both been named after her long-term partner Jade Jones, who she has been dating since 1997.

The awards, which have been running for 12 years, saw a record number of votes cast. More than 10,000 people took part and Emma attained more than one third of the total votes cast.

The top 10 winners included:

  1. Emma Bunton
  2. Michelle Heaton
  3. Claire Richards
  4. Myleene Klass
  5. Holly Willoughby
  6. Una Healy
  7. Katie Price
  8. Amanda Holden
  9. Victoria Beckham
  10. Coleen Rooney

She beat off stiff competition from the likes of former Liberty X star Michelle Heaton, who has recently undergone a double mastectomy, as well as former Steps lead singer Claire Richards, who also reunited with her band in 2012.

The pregnant Duchess of Cambridge had been nominated for the prize and was a top favourite to win, despite the fact she hasn’t even given birth yet.

And Kate Middleton was not the only expectant person to be shortlisted for Celebrity Mum of the Year 2013. Presenter Fearne Cotton and Paralympic gold medallist Sarah Storey were also in the list as contenders for the crown.

Other famous faces that were pipped to the post included new mum Adele, and Loose Women star Andrea Mclean.

Now we know that Mother’s Day has been and gone, but you shouldn’t need a holiday to show the mummy in your household just how special she is? Here at Born Gifted, we have a whole host of gifts that will definitely put a smile on your leading lady’s face.

Fun Mother’s Day Gift Ideas under £20

March 5th, 2013

Mother’s Day is only just around the corner (it’s on Sunday 10th March if you didn’t already know.)

It is a dedicated day to show all the mums in the UK just how much they are loved and appreciated. The special holiday involves all children spoiling their mummies for the day, and treating her like the best parent in the whole wide world.

It is usually customary for the other parent, or partner, to get a present and card on behalf of the little ones, to put a smile on their mum’s face. Obviously, small toddlers cannot go out and buy a gift by themselves, which is why it is important that a relative or friend purchases something for them to give.

With less than a week to go, have you got something for the kids to give? If you are frantically running around trying to get the perfect prezzie, rest assured Born Gifted can help.

You don’t need to spend a fortune to spoil the mum (and mum-to-be!) Taking her out for a swanky meal and a top notch restaurant is nice, but a simple homemade card and gift can also do just the trick.

We have a fantastic range of personalised and non-personalised gifts for Mother’s Day. All our non-personalised gifts are usually dispatched the very same day, so you still have time to treat the special lady.

Presents don’t have to be expensive, and here are some amazing ideas for under £20:

  • I’d Pick You Candle

This candle is super cute and makes a great gift idea- why not light the candle and run her a hot bath whilst you and the kids make tea? We’re sure she’d love to put her feet up for the evening for a change.

And at just £12.99, it’s a bargain!

Alternatively, we also sell this lovely ‘Pink Patterns I Love My Candle which is presented in gift cello-wrap, and is the same price, including free delivery.

·         I Heart My…. Engraved Photo Frame

This silver-plated photo frame, 5 x7” size, is adorable and is a fantastic present for both mums and grandmas.

It features a really cute red heart, and you can personalise it however you want e.g. Mummy, Mum, Nana etc.

A bit of advice though- don’t capitalise all your text as it makes it hard to read once it has been engraved.

Price- £19.99

  • Personalised Latte Mug

Does your mum love a good brew?

This gift is perfect and is also great for godmothers, aunties and grandmas. It has a really pretty cupcake design on the front which can be personalised with your own message and name.

Price- £14.99

Or if she likes a good glass of wine, why not choose this Haight Ashbury Wine Glass instead? It’s currently on sale at only £9.74- bargain!

  • Mother’s Token by Spaceform

We have quite a few different tokens to choose from but this has to be our favourite. It is simple and stylish, and the sentimental message just pulls at your heartstrings.

Any mum or mum-to-be would be delighted at getting this gift, and it comes presented in a chic white box.

Price- £16.99 (Next day and Saturday delivery available)

So there you go- there are four gift ideas to spoil the mummy in your household.

Flowers are a nice gift, but why not spend a little more this Mother’s Day- she’s totally worth it! Go the extra mile and show how thankful you are for everything she does for you and the children.

How Did Mother’s Day Start?

March 15th, 2012

Mother’s Day will be celebrated this year on Sunday 18th March – but how did the occasion originally start? Mother’s Day originally dates back to a woman named Ann Jarvis who started Mothers’ Day work clubs in America. After she died in 1907 her daughter began a campaign to make Mother’s Day a recognised holiday in the US. It is now recognized worldwide! It is celebrated on different days around the world but the idea is still the same – respect, admiration and love for all mothers.

It is traditional to show your appreciation to your Mum by presenting them with a card and a gift such as flowers or chocolate. Alternatively you could choose from a wide range of Mother’s Day gifts available from Born Gifted.

In particular Spaceform tokens are a popular choice which provide a keepsake for your mum to cherish. Alternatively Born Gifted offer a large range of Personalised Mother’s Day gifts including personalised mugs, teas sets, candles and chocolate bars. Whatever you choose to buy your special Mum this Mother’s Day you can sure that it will much appreciated.

Buying New Mum Gifts

December 11th, 2009

Being a new mum is both exciting and daunting. After all the planning and waiting, she is now in a hospital bed with her new baby and possibly feeling quite unprepared for the task ahead.

This is the time that having family support around is very important. Knowing that she can pick up the phone and ask what may seem a daft question can make her feel much better.

Another way that friends and family can show their support is by giving new mum gifts.  It can feel quite overwhelming to a new mum to see so much attention and so many presents lavished on her baby, so receiving some new mum gifts makes sure she knows that people are thinking of her as well. No matter how much the new mum loves her baby and appreciates the love and baby gifts that are given, it is still delightful for her to experience the affection and thought that people have put into new mum gifts for her.

Here at Born Gifted, we have new mum gifts that are bound to provide just that pick-me-up that weary new mums may need. After a day of working out how to do nappies, finding out the best way to wind the baby and coping with putting tiny arms and legs into tiny sleeves and leggings, she will need comfort. It is a steep learning curve and knowing that at the end of the day she can sink into a pampering bath and lose all the stress of the day may be just what makes it feel worthwhile. Make her feel special with new mum gifts.
